Netherfield V5 Logbook Loan FAQs
It’s only right that you have all the information you need before proceeding with your Netherfield logbook loan application. Here are a list of answers to the more frequently asked questions we receive:
How do Nottinghamshire V5 Logbook Loans work?
Borrowing against the value of your car, or V5 loans are a form of secured lending where Netherfield borrowers temporarily transfer ownership of their car via the V5 document in exchange for an agreed amount. You need to own the car yourself (although a small amount of finance is allowed) then you simply hand over the V5 document to the lender. You can borrow up to 80% of the car’s current value, and repay the loan in instalments up to 36 months (early settlement is not penalised). V5 loans are popular with Netherfield residents as they are frequently more accessible to those with lower credit scores that might have been refused elsewhere.
What documents do I need to provide?
Enquiring about a loan is easy and only takes a few minutes of your time. You’ll need to provide some personal information along with a copy of your photo ID, your logbook (or V5 documents) most recent MOT, proof of car insurance, proof of Nottinghamshire residency, and proof of income. These things will all help lenders verify your identity and ownership, and it will also help lenders decide what type of loan you can qualify for.
Why are Logbook Loans a good idea?
They are often a good type of loan for Netherfield borrowers with bad credit scores because they consider all credit hostory. If other loan lenders refuse to offer or give you a loan because of your current credit score, why not apply for a V5 loan? If you own a car and want a loan that considers all applicants, Nottinghamshire V5 document loans could be the perfect solution. With this type of loan, you do not even have to go through the long and arduous processes you’d have with the banks.
I’m currently unemployed, can I get a Logbook Loan?
One of the key requirements to taking out Nottinghamshire loans against your vehicle logbook is that you can prove to the provider that you can afford to make the monthly repayments. This is part of a responsible lending approach that helps ensure you do not default on your payments and risk your vehicle not being returned. Therefore if you are in Netherfield and unemployed you still need to be able to prove that you can afford the repayments to qualify for the loan.
I’ve got a poor credit score... does that matter?
If you’ve got a bad credit profile and you are looking for Netherfield loans, you may be able to borrow by using your V5 document as security. Such loans work on the idea that if you have a car, you can use it as collateral to obtain a loan. Because of this, Nottinghamshire residents with bad credit score may still be eligible to secure a loan with V5 lenders, as compared to the more conventional Nottinghamshire loan lenders. Moreover, the loan application process is simple, the necessary requirements are straightforward, and you can often get access to your money on the same day.
What happens if I can’t prove my current income?
Nottinghamshire V5 lenders need to see proof that you can afford the monthly payments so you don’t risk going into arrears or even risk losing your vehicle. Being responsible lenders means only lending to Netherfield applicants that have the means to prove that they could afford to pay it back. What about car maintenance during the loan?
Although a logbook lender does reserve the right to take possession of your car if you default on your payments, if you are current, you are still the owner of the car. As such, all maintenance remains your responsibility, and this includes MOT checks, insurance, and regular servicing. Your lender will expect normal wear and tear along with additional mileage on the car, but if anything should significantly reduce the car’s value, you will be expected to report that change to the lender as soon as possible.
Will a HPI check show a Loan?
Any loans taken out against the car are normally recorded on a database which is known as the HPI Index where anybody can check for the vehicle’s history prior to purchasing it. When you do a HPI check, you will get to know the vehicle’s true financial history. The HPI check report will also show you the vehicle’s history including; whether the logbook is legitimate, insurance write-off, previous number of owners, previous number plate changes, potential mileage discrepancies, and more.
How long are the loan repayments?
Logbook lending repayment periods can take up to 36 months, which means that you get to spread the repayment for a long period of time. You can decide to make your repayments based on the schedule you’re comfortable with. You can choose the 12 months repayment period, the 18 months repayment period or the 36 months repayment period. Also, if you choose to repay the loan early, you will not be penalised.
